The ACT Government is auctioning 109 megawatts of renewable energy feed-in tariff capacity. The successful bidders will establish a solar photovoltaic with battery storage program in the ACT.
The Government expects up to $25 million to be available to support about 26 megawatts of battery storage to be rolled out in more than 5,000 Canberra homes and businesses over the next four years.
A successful auction will complete the Territory’s commitment of using renewable sources to supply 90% of Canberra’s electricity needs by 2020.
The request for proposals will close in May.
