Australia’s Wasabi Energy says it has completed the purchase of an Icelandic geothermal plant.
The small Orkuveita Husavikur geothermal power plant, located at the township of Husavik, on Iceland’s northern shore and with a capacity of two megawatts, was purchased by Wasabi subsidiary Global Geothermal.
The power station, which also produces heat, is currently shut down but is to reopen for production in the second quarter of 2012.
