The Australian Energy Storage Alliance has launched the Australian Energy Storage Database, an Australian portal to the Global Energy Storage Database that provides free, up to date information on energy storage projects.

Funded through the New South Wales Energy & Resources Knowledge Hub, the database leverages work developed for the Global Energy Storage Database by the United States Department of Energy, Office of Electricity Delivery & Energy Reliability and Sandia National Laboratories.

Designed for investors, developers, planners, policy makers, and researchers, the database provides a comprehensive listing of commercial and utility scale energy storage projects and their key uses to address challenges on the grid.

The database provides details such as technology, location, ownership, and status for a range of both on and off – grid systems and a wide range of energy storage technologies.

The Australian portal provides easy access to the 1,400 energy storage projects already listed in the global database across 60 countries, as well as Australian projects.

Project managers of commercial and utility scale energy storage projects in Australia and New Zealand can provide details to list or update their projects online via the new Australian portal. The Australian Energy Storage Alliance will provide assistance to list and profile eligible commercial projects in Australia and New Zealand.
