A venture which the owners claim to be Australia’s first "sun farm" has opened near Renmark in Souh Australia.
The Pike River Woolshed’s new sun farm, owned by Andrew and Bronny Caire, uses 495 solar panels to generate over 55,000kWh of power annually.
Solar Shop Australia’s managing director, Adrian Ferraretto, said “The Pike River Woolshed Sun Farm will provide a fully functional example to farmers and investors on how solar energy is a financially viable investment.”
The sun farm cost $300,000 to set up and will return $38,000 per annum in feed-in tarriffs.
