The world’s largest solar-powered footbridge has opened in Brisbane.
The structure is 470 netres long and is clad with 84 solar panels which power the bridge’s LED lighting and feed the main grid.
It is expected that about 36,000 people will use the new Kurilpa Bridge, which connects South Brisbane and the city center, every week.
It’s LED lighting has a sophisticated control system that can produce a plethora of lighting effects and will become a feature in Brisbane’s annual Riverfire celebrations.
