An intelligent home energy management system, with the technical backing of CSIRO, has been launched by a startup company Evergen.
The system, which is the result of 20 years research by the CSIRO, combines solar panels and batteries with smart software to continuously analyse and optimise home energy use.
The software looks at the power consumption patterns of the household and local weather to make decisions that will reduce energy costs. It then chooses the most efficient source for the household’s electricity supply at any given time, switching from solar to stored power as required, while charging the battery in the best way to maximise its useful life.
The system is remotely managed by Evergen and regularly analysed and updated by CSIRO.
