Ararat Wind Farm

RES Australia obtained permission to develop a 75 turbine wind farm seven kilometres east of Ararat in Victoria. The wind farm will have a total capacity of 247.5 MW.

Tenders for 75 wind turbines were called in April 2015. Construction is expected to begin late in 2015 and to be completed in 2017.

In December 2015, the Clean Energy Finance Corporation agreed to provide $67 million in financial support for the project.

Installation of the wind turbines was completed in February 2017 and the project was fully completed in June 2017.

In September 2017, Ararat Wind Farm annoinced that it had signed Australia’s first ever large-scale renewable corporate Power Purchase Agreement with Flow Power.
