Biala Wind Farm

Newtricity is proposing to construct a wind farm with a capacity of up to 100MW, approximately 8 kilometres east of Biala and approximately 14.5 km south west of Crookwell in the NSW Southern Tablelands.

The area under consideration spans approximately 1,936 hectares of rural agricultural land, however the project footprint will only cover up to 5% of the total area.

The project would involve the construction, operation and maintenance of 31 wind turbines at a maximum tip height of 185 metres and associated infrastructure.

In November 2017, it was announced that the wind farm had been acquired by Beijing Jingneng Clean Energy Australia (BJCE Australia) and that construction is planned to begin in mid-2018 with completion in 2019.
