Bungala Solar Project

In September 2016, Reach Solar submitted an application to develop a 300 MW single-axis tracing solar PV plant at Wami Kata, 7 kilometres north of Port Augusta.

In February 2017, Origin Energy announced that it had signed a power purchase agreement for 110MW with an additional 110MW at a later stage.

The first 100MW stage was expected to be completed by December 2017; the second 110MW stage was scheduled for completion by August 2018 with full completion of the 300MW within 5 years.

The solar farm is to be located on 800 hectares of a former ostrich farm owned by the Bungala Aboriginal Corporation.

Financial close for Stage 1 (110MW) was announced in May 2017 and for Stage 2 (110MW) in July 2017.
