Cape Nelson South Wind Farm

Cape Nelson South Wind Farm, near Portland in south weatern Victoria, was completed in May 2009.

With a total capacity of 44 MW from twenty-two 2 MW turbines, the Wind Farm produces enough renewable electricity to abate around 141,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.

Cape Nelson South Wind Farm is part of the Portland Wind Energy Project being developed by Pacific Hydro. The Portland Project comprises:

  • Yambuck (20 turbines with 30 MW capacity)
  • Cape Bridgewater (29 turbines with 58 MW capacity)
  • Cape Nelson South (22 turbines with 44 MW capacity)
  • Cape Sir William Grant (27 turbines with 54 MW capacity).
