Murray 2 Hydro Power Station

Murray 2 Power Station is part of the Snowy Mountains Scheme.

Murray 2 has four turbo generators with a total generating capacity of 550 MW of electricity.

The power station was completed in 1969.

Water is diverted  westwards from Lake Eucumbene and other smaller reservoirs, through the Murray 1 & 2 power stations, and finally into the Murray River near Khancoban. When it reaches the Murray 2 Power Station, it has dropped 264.3 metres..

Although the power station is physically located in the state of New South Wales, it has, since 1 July 2008 been allocated to the Victoria region of the National Electricity Market.
