OneSun Capital (Williamsdale) Solar Farm

Elementus Energy will build a 10 MW solar park at Williamsdale on the southern border of the A.C.T. (The solar farm was origninally planed to be located at Coree near Uriarra.)

Elementus was one of two successful bidders in the second phase of the A.C.T.'s reverse auction process.

The first round of the A.C.T. solar auction was won by the Spanish company, Fotowatio Renewable Ventures, which is building a 20 MW solar farm near Royalla and the other successful tenderer in the second stage was Zhenfa Australia which will build a 13 MW solar farm on Mugga Lane in Tuggeranong..

The A.C.T. Government plans to bring another 650MW of renewable energy generation to its region in order to reach its target of 90% renewable energy generation by 2020.

Construction of the solar farm was expected to commence in mid-2014, with completion early in 2015 but was delayed as a result of objections to the original Uriarra site. Construction at the Williamsdale site was approved in January 2016.

Once operational it will produce approximately 11,900MWh of electricity per year from 26,100 crystalline solar panels in a fixed tilt configuration.

In May 2016, the solar farm was purchased by the funds management company Impact Investment Group.

Construction commenced in July 2016 and was completed in October 2017.
