The Spanish renewables company, Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV), has won the "fast track" component of the reverse auction held by the ACT Government for the construction of a utility-scale solar farm in the Territory.
FRV is to build the "Royalla 1" 20 megawatt solar PV farm at Tuggeranong, 25 kilometres south of the Canberra CBD.
FRV will receive a feed-in tariff of 18.6 cents per kilowatt-hour.
A second stream of the reverse auction process is to be completed in March 2013 and will deliver a further 20 megawatts of solar power.
