The New South Wales Department of Planning and Infrastructure has approved the Sapphire Wind Farm, to be located 18 kilometres from Glenn Innes in the New England Tablelands, New South Wales.
The wind farm, which will have 159 turbines and a capacity of 319 megawatts, is expected to cost $479 million..
Construction is expected to commence in late-2014 and take up to 18 months to complete. It will be constructed and operated by Sapphire Wind Farm Pty Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wind Prospect CWP Pty Ltd.
