Australia’s largest wind tower manufacturer, RPG Australia, has gone into voluntary administration with more than 150 workers made redundant.
The Queensland-based heavy steel manufacturing and installation business, operated four plants in Queensland and South Australia. The South Australian plant and two of the three Queensland plants are being closed. The remaining operation at Wacol in Queensland is under review.
The company was involved in the construction of a variety of large steel structures, including wind power generation towers and equipment for geothermal and wave power generation.
